Differences in glazing loggias and balconies

  • November 21, 2018

Loggias and balconies have long performed wider functions than those that they were originally intended. In new buildings, less often you can find these designs in the same form. Increasingly, people perform glazing loggias and balconies. They receive as a result comfortable, hygienic and practical rooms. But to choose a company that will complete this work is not easy, since everyone advertises their activities and materials as the best. Not everyone can determine the differences between the loggia and the balcony, and this should be done, since the technology of their glazing is different. At the balcony, three sides are outside, like the site itself, and the loggia enters the yard with only one side. Therefore, the functionality of these objects differ. The balcony is glazed from three different sides, and the loggia is only from one.

Three -sided structure is translucent, and the person is on the balcony, as in the aquarium. You can glaze the balcony on one side, and make the other two closed. To do this, use plastic panels or siding. Artificial side walls turn the balcony into a loggia. The entire structure of the balcony is suspended to the wall, so they are glazed taking into account a certain load. In the case of a loggia, these restrictions do not work. In standard balconies, an exceeding the load of 200 kilograms is not allowed.

The loggia is insured not only with a capital mount to the facade, and thanks to the bearing side walls, he is not afraid of additional load. Closing only one side of the loggia will cost cheaper. Although it all depends on the selected materials and the work of the designer. Glazing allows you to use these objects as an additional living area in the apartment. Here you can equip a rest room or even a workshop. All this became possible thanks to glazing.
