There is no single standard for how long a renovation should last. A major renovation can take 3-5 months, depending on the area of the apartment. Light and inexpensive cosmetic renovation can be completed in a couple of weeks, especially if the apartment is small.
The renovation contract specifies the time frame based on the repairmen’s own agreements. If the team does not manage to complete the renovation by the specified date, the Consumer Protection Law (Article 28) allows in this case to either completely terminate the contract or, for example, demand a reduction in the cost of the work or compensation for the costs of finishing with the involvement of another team.
The owner of the square meters being renovated also has the right to a penalty – its amount is 3% of the price of the work for each day of delay, but not more than the total cost of the order.
If it is not possible to agree on the claim, it remains to go to court with a claim for the protection of consumer rights.
