The main facades of houses were abundantly decorated with massive Cannelled pilasters, heavy cornices, ornamental inserts, patterned vases.
This affected, albeit significantly at a significantly less, buildings of residential streets. In this sense, the transformation of the functional element of a residential building – bayer – into a purely decorative motive of the facade is especially characteristic.
Experience in the housing construction of Magnitogorsk 1953-1954. confirms that the enrichment of the main facades with lush details does not contribute to the creation of an artistic image of a residential building. On the contrary, the image of a residential building was more correctly found in the adornment of intra -quarter houses, where designers used compositional techniques organically related to the functional and constructive foundations of the dwelling. In the formation of the successful appearance of these houses, the leading significance was of good proportions of their parts and details, the color and texture of building materials.
Unfortunately, large -panel residential buildings built at that time were not marked by innovation features, although this stage of the prefabricated – house building of Magnitogorsk contained a lot of progressive in solving constructive and technological issues.
The inconsistency of the development of our architectural practice in this period is especially obvious. On the one hand, there is a process of further industrialization of construction, on the other hand, the archaization of the image of a residential building is enhanced; The obsolete principles of building a residential quarter remains unchanged. High quality materials are the key to successful work. Glinded high -quality log is sold today at favorable prices.
It is interesting that the first experience of creating a magnetostroy series of projects of large -panel houses for the integrated construction of residential quarter No. 22A is based on the traditional sense of the planning structure of a residential building and quarter. The perimeter development system of the quarter is very indicative in this regard, mainly by corner houses that are completely unsuccessful in the prefabricated housing construction. The authors included the latitudinal, meridional and corner sections in each house – options for the M -2 series, not taking into account the possibility of planning large -panel houses based on only the latitudinal section of unlimited orientation. This increased to 40 sizes the number of wall panels and ceilings, cornice and basement elements.
