In almost all city apartments, the balcony is the coldest site. Many in the winter period of time adapt the balcony space under the refrigerator, taking out perishable foods there. But not everyone likes such a situation. There are people who want their balcony to be a warm and cozy room, a continuation of the room in which you can drink tea or coffee, enjoying the view of the city.
To insulate the balcony, you first need to carry out waterproofing work on it. To do this, its entire area must be covered with waterproofing material. Further in the corners of the balcony, the bars are nailed, the height of which is equal to the height of the balcony partition. Next, a layer of insulation is installed. You can use various materials. If the foam is used, then it can be fixed on the walls and ceiling of the balcony using liquid nails, if mineral wool, then it can be fixed on the walls using fasteners called “mushroom”. When the installation of the insulation is completed, we proceed to the installation of the crate of the balcony, on which plastic panels will be attached. To do this, we beat the slats to the previously fixed bars along the entire long -length of the balcony, along the entire area of the walls. The result should be some semblance of a reinforcing mesh made of wood. The next step will be the fastening of the facing panels using a screwdriver or a construction stapler.
When the walls are insulated, proceed to floor insulation. Since the base of the balcony is concrete, you can first install a layer of insulation, and then a layer of waterproofing, on top of which a warm floor system will be installed. Of course, you can do without it, then after a waterproofing layer, you must lay a bars with an equal step on the floor, and put a heater between them and sew it all with sheets of chipboard, on which you can subsequently lay linoleum or any other flooring.
