The most common floor covering is linoleum. Created for a very long time in Germany, and over the years it has been modified, the quality has improved. Linoleum used today is environmentally friendly, has high wear resistance and efficiency.
In today’s market, linoleum of various qualities, properties, wide colors, different styles are offered: from classics to modern. The choice can satisfy any customer requirements.
Linoleum, as a floor covering, began to be used in the early 70s.
Now they produce linoleum using modern technologies, this allows us to get high quality, wide range of various designs and color scheme.
In the near future, most consumers to cover the floors will use linoleum. And if your apartment has to be repaired, and you need to lay the coating on the floor, stop on linoleum, it has a wide selection of colors, design solutions, you can choose the desired thickness and width of the coating.
Laying linoleum easily, has sound – and sound insulation, thermal insulation, durable and elastic. It is made of hygienically pure materials that do not cause allergies.
Following the recommendations of marketers and managers who are actively studying demand and trends in this area, in special laboratories they develop new linoleum designs. Household linoleum can be bought in a specialized store.
What linoleum consists of.
Having created a new design and testing it, in large rolls of various thicknesses, linoleum is put on the conveyor in production. And before the final result is obtained, it passes a large number of stages of creation. The composition of linoleum is very interesting.
Create linoleum, connecting several layers:
1 layer of linoleum:
This is a transparent upper layer of linoleum, created from polyurethane resin, which protects the applied pattern from erasure. It is also called – a layer of wear. The thickness of such a layer depends on the resistance of linoleum to wear and erase the pattern
2 layer of linoleum:
Consists of the applied pattern and color on linoleum.
3 layer of linoleum:
This is foamed polyvinyl chloride. Using this layer, the relief is achieved on the surface of the linoleum, as a result of chemical processing. Sometimes the relief is created using mechanical pressure on a layer of wear, applied.
4 layer of linoleum:
This is a polyvinyl chloride on a fiberglass. Fiberglass adds plasticity linoleum, makes it resistant to twisting, stretching, prevents it from compressing it. This layer also warns linoleum against deformation.
5 layer of linoleum:
This is the last and main layer, consists of foamed polyvinyl chloride. The consumer quality of linoleum depends on this layer, gives it softness and elasticity, gives comfort when walking along it.
The basis that consists of foamed polyvinyl chloride can be mechanical or chemical. The peculiarity of the mechanical basis is a certain thickness of the layer, which is set before getting into the oven. In the process of heat treatment in the furnace, the thickness remains unchanged. And the peculiarity of chemical foam is that the layer reaches a given thickness, while swelling in the furnace.
Choosing a chemical or mechanical basis, rely on your taste and needs, this does not affect the quality.
