Warming the ceiling of the bath with your own hands

Photo on warming the ceiling in the bath

If you decide to insulate the bath with your own hands, then it is worth knowing that first you need to do the insulation of the ceiling. There are many different methods for warming.

Insulation of mineral wool

The classic of the genre, of course, is insulation of mineral wool. This material is an ideal heat insulator for the bath, its advantages are refractory, low thermal conductivity and most importantly – harmlessness. The only disadvantage is the fear of water, if the mineral wool is wet, it will lose its beneficial properties, it will crumble and “take”. In order to solve such a problem, it is necessary to provide the material “breathing”. To do this, just equip a ventilation gap in front of a waterproofing film.

Clay insulation and sawdust

The most effective way to require the most minimal investment is to warm the ceiling with clay and sawdust. Although this method is considered quite troublesome and “dirty”. Clain ceiling insulation is a folk way that our ancestors also used. On the side of the attic, the ceiling boards are treated with a liquid mixture of sand and clay, after it is waiting for its complete drying. The surface treated with clay is covered with chips, sawdust and leaves (it is advisable to use oak). Cover such a “carpet” with a layer of dry land, about 5 centimeters.

Insulation of the ceiling ceramzitis ceiling

You can also insulate the ceiling with expanded clay. Ceramzite granules are burned clay capsules, which are obtained during the release of clay fusion, and after heat treatment of this mass. Material, due to its cellular structure, holds heat perfectly, it is also actively used in construction in the form of sand, granules and gravel. Ceramzite insulation is one of the most affordable methods of thermal insulation, however, it should be taken into account that the thickness of the layer should be about thirty centimeters and it will need to protect the hydraulic – and steam -barrier.

The choice of the material used is the personal file of each. Each thermal insulation, insulation have their minuses and pluses. All heater and various sound conductivity, this should also be taken into account. In addition to insulation of the ceiling itself, it is important to do and warming the roof of the building.
