Waterproofing methods: what you need to know

  • August 16, 2018

More than one qualified builder does not dare to deny the need to waterproof the grounds, which is understandable, since the destructive effect of groundwater or moisture in the air can lead to corrosion and spoilage of any material. Paul waterproofing services are provided by many repair teams if there is no way or desire to fulfill them on your own. There is a wide variety of methods for installing protective cover, the most popular are the coloring, pasting, casting and plaster.

The global method consists in the multi-layer alternate application of rolled and sheet materials based on bitumen and polymers, the paint is a surface coating with polymer or bitumen varnishes in several layers and involves renewal every five to six years. The plaster method is installed in the form of a multi -layer screed of cement and sand with the additions of polymer additional components.

Waterproofing can be applied hot and cold. The former are mounted with the groove with a gas burner, and the latter are glued to the base using a spray gun, spatula and brushes. After drying the main protective layer, a reinforcing network and a screed of concrete, glass and sand in a ratio of one to one in three parts of the sand are superimposed on top of it. The final processing consists in imposing another waterproofing layer in two layers of water -insoluble cement compounds, which are laid using a spatula with a plaster method. They put a substrate on top and mount any floor coverings, such as traffic jam, laminate, parquet and others.

In the event that it is necessary to make a point restoration of the protective cover due to the cracks and gaps that have occurred over time or as a result of mechanical damage, then the injection method is used. Binders or special resins are introduced into the places of discrepancies of the cover, reliably fastening its parts.

When conducting this type of work in bathrooms, it is worth considering some features of the room, the entire perimeter of which suffers from condensed moisture, so it is better to expand the waterproofing zone from floor to walls. Paul, “lowered” by several centimeters compared to the level of the surface of other rooms, will provide better liquid isolation and prevent its rapid spread in case of emergency situations, such as damage to the drain of the washing machine or the rupture of the pipe. The democratic price of the flooring of the floor allows the owners of housing not to load their heads with all the nuances and technical features of applying a protective layer to various surfaces, but will relax and entrust the work to professionals.

  • This object has such a fate that involuntarily allocates it among others in Kazakhstan. The bridge across the Ural River in the administrative center of the West Kazakhstan region began to be built in the “good old days”, that is, under the Soviet regime. Since the republic never had their own organizations specialized in this case, bridge builders from different Russian cities worked here here. Then there was a notorious “parade of sovereignty”, followed by an economic crisis. Although the construction of the bridge continued, however, the payment of the executed volumes was now constantly delayed, or even at all moved away for an indefinite period. For this reason, the bridge builders stopped working several times. However, the object in Uralsk is one of the most significant in Kazakhstan, and therefore did not forget about it: the press periodically woke up this topic. Increased attention is also explained by the fact that the bridge across the Urals does not just connect the two banks of the river, it makes up an important link on the shortest path from Central Asia to the European part of Russia. As a result, the story of the invitation of bridge builders from a neighboring state was repeated again and again, without a visible result. There is a rather funny moment in it. A couple of years ago, when the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Uralsk, the local authorities invited him to take part in the solemn open… bridge over the Urals. The head of state made sensory words and cut the red ribbon. But when the ceremony ended and the president left, the entrance to the bridge was closed. The fact is that every driver who would decide to update the shortest path from Central Asia to Russia could well have been on the other side, but at the bottom of the river. The object was not over. And the main difficulty was not so much in building a car transition through the Urals itself, but in the construction of multi -kilometer approaches to it through a constantly flooded floodplain. And work here still start and finish. And now in the republic they decided to return to the long -suffering object again. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the competition for state procurement of works and services for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Ural River. The required delivery time within 2000. Potential suppliers who meet the qualification requirements stipulated in Article 10 of the Law of Kazakhstan “On public procurement” are allowed to the competition.
