What you need to know about the waterproofing of the basement in a private house

  • June 27, 2018

When erecting and decorating a cottage or a country house, it is very important to think over everything to the smallest detail and pay special attention to the arrangement of each building room. But, as a rule, only a few follow this advice, while the rest simply try to make a solid decoration and lining of living rooms without focusing on the basement. However, experts adhere to such a point of view that it is precisely the arrangement of the basement, or rather its waterproofing, is one of the most important conditions of comfort and comfort throughout the house. Waterproofing of the basement floor

Regardless of how groundwater, floors and walls of the basements are located, should be isolated from the upward moisture rising upward, as well as from surface waters leaking through the soil. So, a concrete coating can serve as an ideal waterproofing layer of basement flooring, but as a waterproofing layer of walls it will be appropriate to choose hot bitumen, which makes sense to lay in a two -layer method. It must be taken into account that such a condition is in accordance with the case if it is about groundwater located below the floor of the basement. If soil waters above the floor take place, then the organization of an additional shell is the best solution that will resist the effects of hydrostatic pressure.

Drainage device

According to the opinions of professionals, the most effective and truly effective method in the fight against groundwater penetrating the basement is the installation of drainage. The main meaning of the device of the drainage system is as follows: around the dwelling at a distance of approximately two to three meters from the fundamental base, ditches are created. Ceramic, concrete or some other pipes with a hole intended for the duct of the water are laid on the bottom of the ditches.

Insulation of the external walls of the basement

After that, the ditches are covered with a thick layer of gravel of large sizes, and then a layer of sand, on top of which the soil is laid. Such a system allows the level of groundwater to decrease noticeably. As for the insulation of the external walls of the basement, it is carried out using the following technology. First of all, it makes sense to note that the glow isolation is a waterproof continuous carpet from a flexible sheet or roller material that can be glued into both one and four layers (depending on a particular case). As a rule, it is located at a height equal to half a meter directly from the level of groundwater.

  • This object has such a fate that involuntarily allocates it among others in Kazakhstan. The bridge across the Ural River in the administrative center of the West Kazakhstan region began to be built in the “good old days”, that is, under the Soviet regime. Since the republic never had their own organizations specialized in this case, bridge builders from different Russian cities worked here here. Then there was a notorious “parade of sovereignty”, followed by an economic crisis. Although the construction of the bridge continued, however, the payment of the executed volumes was now constantly delayed, or even at all moved away for an indefinite period. For this reason, the bridge builders stopped working several times. However, the object in Uralsk is one of the most significant in Kazakhstan, and therefore did not forget about it: the press periodically woke up this topic. Increased attention is also explained by the fact that the bridge across the Urals does not just connect the two banks of the river, it makes up an important link on the shortest path from Central Asia to the European part of Russia. As a result, the story of the invitation of bridge builders from a neighboring state was repeated again and again, without a visible result. There is a rather funny moment in it. A couple of years ago, when the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Uralsk, the local authorities invited him to take part in the solemn open… bridge over the Urals. The head of state made sensory words and cut the red ribbon. But when the ceremony ended and the president left, the entrance to the bridge was closed. The fact is that every driver who would decide to update the shortest path from Central Asia to Russia could well have been on the other side, but at the bottom of the river. The object was not over. And the main difficulty was not so much in building a car transition through the Urals itself, but in the construction of multi -kilometer approaches to it through a constantly flooded floodplain. And work here still start and finish. And now in the republic they decided to return to the long -suffering object again. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the competition for state procurement of works and services for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Ural River. The required delivery time within 2000. Potential suppliers who meet the qualification requirements stipulated in Article 10 of the Law of Kazakhstan “On public procurement” are allowed to the competition.
