A plasterboard sheet is a plate of hardened gypsum dough with fillers, glued with two layers of construction paper or cardboard, playing the role of reinforcing coating. The paper surface is an ideal basis for the vast majority of finishing materials, such as paint, tiles, wallpaper, plaster. Drywall is suitable for both finishing and construction work. With it, it is easy to align the walls, ceilings, update old coatings with minimal time and means. Drywall is easily processed and great for creating decorative elements of the interior with a complex surface, for example, figured partitions and arched openings. The following types of drywall sheets are presented on the market: GKL – ordinary drywall. Designed for use in rooms with low humidity (not higher than seventy percent). GKLV – moisture -resistant drywall. In its production, impregnated cardboard is used, and antifungal and hydrophobic additives are introduced into the core material. Such drywall is used for construction and finishing work in rooms with a high level of humidity in the presence of extract and covering the front side of the sheet with ceramic tiles, waterproof primer or waterproofing. The level of humidity should not be above eighty percent. GCL – fire -resistant drywall, similar to GKL. Gypsum dough in such a sheet includes special reinforcing fillers. Like GKL, it is used in rooms with medium and low humidity. GKLVO – moisture -resistant fire -resistant drywall, combining the properties of GKLV and GLLC. Such drywall is usually much more expensive than ordinary. Along with drywall in construction, a gypsum fiber is used. This material according to the production method is similar to drywall, but it does not have an external coating – the gypsum base is reinforced with pulp fibers throughout the volume. Gypsum fiber has high strength and fireproof, however, its processing requires great effort than drywall. Gypsum -fiber sheets are widely used for firewall cladding of wooden structures. Gypsum cardboard is a modern finishing and building material that has proven itself in works at various levels of complexity. But we must not forget about its significant drawbacks – limited moisture resistance, low resistance to shock loads, etc. p.
